Mar 14 2012 Chart Graphic DesignMost graphic design students don’t really know what graphic designers do. Graphic design, at its very best, is about communication. The great graphic designers earn their prestige because they figure out how best to communicate concisely and aesthetically and that is why I’ve always thought solid problem-solving skills were the most important tools that any graphic designer can possess. One great challenge for young graphic designers is chart creation. Being given a large collection of data and having to organize it in a way that is appealing to viewers is a great test of both critical thinking and design intuition.
